With the help of the Universal Analysis Module you can compile
an analysis yourself. At present, following data formats are provided:
- W3C format
- CSV format
- NCSA format
- IIS format
- NT eventlogs
- ODBC data bases

Due to the open program-architecture you can add new data formats at any time. By
adjusting the configuration files it is possible to add your own text based formats
easily. If necessary we will be glad to assist you and if desired we create modules
for any kind of proprietary data formats.
Data-Import
In general you specify in Visendo Analyzer where to safe your log data on your local
computer. If your data is created and stored on another server, you have the possibility
to access the data via FTP before analyzing it. You specify which
data from which server has to be transferred, and Visendo Analyzer deals with the
rest.
Reports-Export
You can safe the result of an analysis either as HMTL- or as
HTMLOnly-report. In case of HTML-format the tables are created as HTML
and the charts as JPG-pictures. It is also possible to use frames. In case of HTMLOnly
format the whole report is written into a HTML file. The charts are not created
as pictures but in HTML format. This way it is e.g. possible to send the whole report
as HTML-email without having to attach pictures.
The created reports are always stored in the Visendo folder and therefore can be
viewed online. However you also can have the reports copied automatically to
another local folder, transferred via FTP to a remote server or sent via email
to any email-address.
Time-controlled analysis
A newly created analysis is always safed as analysis-job and can be run again at
any time. Furthermore you can start the analysis time-controlled at specific dates
or intervals. For example it makes sense to analyze webserver logs daily after midnight
so that the last day is completely included in the analysis and the analysis does
not demand performance while you are working. You can decide whether to start the
analysis automatically daily, on specific week days or on a certain date. You can
specify the time or a time interval, e.g. every hour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
File Manager
Visendo Analyzer is a web application, so often the question comes up how to manage
the log data on the server without accessing the server via FTP or network? For
this reason Visendo Analyzer comes with a server-side file manager so you can administrate
your server data online. Using the file manager you can also view the content of
your log data on the server. In order to prevent unauthorized access to your server
data, you as an administrator have the possibility to specify in the file AccessControl.config
which folders have to be available online and which don’t have. Via the file manager
you can also upload files from your local PC to the analysis server. ZIP files are
treated like folders. I.e. you can also analyze logs which are contained in a zip-file
to save disc space.
